Year 2017 : Among three warmest years

In year 2017, temperature of land and sea was very hot. According to American scientists, global temperature records have been kept since 1850 and since then, 2017 is the third warmest year recorded. 2017 was among three warmest years on record for the globe, according to 'the state of climate 2017' report issued recently. 500 scientists from 60 countries has contributed their efforts to prepare this report.

Deepening the sea level threatens the sinking of coastal areas 

According to this reputed report, In 2017, the temperature is above average temperature for more than 60 days. In 2017, due to this increased temperature above average temperature resulted in the rise of sea level up to 3 inches compared to 1993 numbers, and which is the highest ever recorded sea level. The main reason behind the rise in sea level, is the melting of glaciers, which is now a continuous process since the last 38 years. 

"Based on preliminary data, 2017 is likely to be the 38th year in a row of mountain Glacier mass loss worldwide" as quoted in the report.

Gregory Johnson an expert from 'National oceanic and atmospheric administration(NOAA)', reacting to the report said that "I am amazed on how this rise in temperature has affected the aquatic ecosystem".

Natural disasters have been severely affected 2017. Last year, natural disasters not only damaged environment but also, the affected countries faced financial crisis. If we talk about only the Hurricane Harvey, it costs about 125 billion dollar to America. Scientists have also mentioned in the report that the drought in 2017 have affected the largest ever land area. According to the report, Kerala in India and Central Asia faced the worst drought conditions in 2017.

"The area affected by drought in 2017 was above average and large areas of severe or extreme drought affected every continent except North America" as quoted in the report.

Preliminary results for 2017 indicate Global atmospheric carbon dioxide levels hit a new record high. The scientists of 'National oceanic and atmospheric administration (NOAA)', has found that the amount of greenhouse gases is highest in 2017.

The most shocking fact in the report is that, some countries in Southern hemisphere faced a drastic increase in temperature. Scientists believe that, every country should take 'the state of climate report 2017' seriously and follow the 'Paris climate conventions' to bring down the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
